Alchemyyyyy.
It was alchemy
To sing to me your freedom song
To make love where there was none
Alchemy, now it's all gone
She is the golden one
Getting so pumped up for Above and Beyond this Saturday! :DDDDDDD

Weekend.
The long weekend came and went past ever so quickly. It's already Monday :'((( It was pretty eventful over the few days. Spent the night in on Friday, watching tennis and lamenting over Federer's lost to Murray in the Australian Open. Le sigh. Really couldn't stand Murray's snarky face and obnoxious smirk that I turned the tv off when Fed was losing in the 5th set.
Saturday was spent visiting Jeff and to check on him to see that he's okay after the intense surgery he had. The swelling has gone down but he still has pretty puffy cheeks. He's OD-ing on codeine and ibuprofen (painkillers and antiinflammatories) plus taking amoxy (antibiotic) so hopefully he'd recover soon. We cooked dinner at his place, along with Jon-with-a-mole and Dawn. Honey and soy chicken was yum :D and it was so easy to cook. Just marinate it with garlic, ginger, honey and soy sauce, and shove it into the oven till the chicken's cooked through- voilaaaa! :)))))
Davy had his house warming on Sunday and I made mango, avocado and lettuce salad :))) the recipe was really simple, from Taste.com.au and it was really good. Met up with the other Singaporeans in the group and it was a good catch up to see what everyone's doing. Since we are in 5th year now, we are all scattered around the place and the only time we get to see each other is when we are all in a gathering or probs during back to base week in April.
Caught up with Kech today at Duke's on Chapel Street. He left his previous practice in Swan Hill and moved back to the city. I think it's great to have the seniors back haha it's great hanging out with them and through what they discuss, live in some of the experiences they have had and advice they got to give. Hopefully work goes well for him and he gets to have a full week soon after his boss buys another surgery :)
And that wasn't too bad for a long weekend hey :))

Change
Time and again I'll have the inkling to go for a change in blog templates. From the previous blogskins to the half arsed, self customized HTML links, I'm introducing my newest blog template today! Blogger has made such a change in the last few years and it's getting way easier to customize your own blog template, rather than having to figure out what does "br" mean.
:)
Yes. I'm very bored. Hahaha. Clinic has been great and because I'm currently rostered to the Dental Hospital, I don't really have a full day sesh, more like half day clinics and generally I'm pretty free. Pretty much trying to fill up my extra time though. Don't really want to volunteer to PC and suck up, although it can be really busy in the morning sometimes. The last time I was there I did 3 exos and a 15 extirpation. Those were kinda exciting I suppose. But in exchange, you'd have to listen to the person in charge going on and on about her spider bites, cat stories and what not.
I've been cooking much more at home nowadays and that's a good change :) it's good as you can control what you eat and I'm trying to be healthier than I was in previous years - eating more veggies, a fruit a day, yoghurt etc and cutting down on white rice.
In a nutshell, I'm looking for a change this year. Not like a drastic-I-am-turning-into-a-vegan, but more of getting on with a healthier diet. Now, maybe I should work on getting my exercise mode on again.
Happy 'Straya Day everyone! :)

It's nearly the end of January!!! OMG how time flies DDDDD: It's really daunting to think that this is the final year of Uni and fingers crossed, I'll be graduating this year DDDDD: I'm so unprepared for the real world!!
Oh dear.
Every Wednesday during summer, there's a food market - Suzuki Market held at Victoria market and we (Alice, Jero, Chris) headed down for dinner after Paeds. Food wasn't too bad, but it wasn't the greatest or tastiest I've ever had and was pretty pricey as well. We had pork ribs, sausages, potato rings (!!!!! OMG SO YUM), seafood zazuela (some Spanish seafood with rice thingy), banana and strawberry crepes with nutella etc. Then we received a text and photo from Jeff and he looked like a swollen balloon. W.T.F. He had his wizzies taken out in theatre at RDHM and his face looked like someone gave him a fist swing. It was bruised and swollen, especially around his lower left jaw. Apparently when they were trying to extract his upper 28, the cryer tip broke and they took ages to fish it out. Usually it only take 1/2 to 1 hour to remove all 4 wizzies but his took like 2.5 hours and had to have 2 litres of saline and iv amoxy. Holy shit. Went to visit him with Chris and it was an uphill battle to walk really quick with a full stomach. Or rather I'm just unfit. Lol
On a side note, I made a kid cry today. Yes. I'm that horrible :'((( This 12 year old kid never had a filling done in her life, hence never had any local anaesthesia before, a.k.a. "The Needle" as her mum kept emphasizing to her and that obviously wasn't helping the situation. With Dr. Loo's help, we kind of desensitized her and kept constantly talking to her, distracting her. When I put the topical on, she was already wincing. Then the needle came. She started to gulp and choke for some reason. We tried to calm her down and asked her to breathe through her nose and then she snorted /sneezed. I think she was quite embarrassed as then, the tears came. She was sobbing, not entirely crying like a baby, but still choking up with tears. Poor kid. But yeah that's for not taking care of your teeth!!!!! Well, at least the filling I did for her was pretty good. The kid doesn't even know which tooth I filled. She said she can't see it. LOLOL.
So yeah. Seeing kids just mentally and physically drain you and before you know it, it's 5pm. Time to pack up and have some KFC. Because every paediatric block can get so depressing that you deserve some finger lickin' good chicken.

Strange.
Just had an early dinner catch up with the Dent girls at Thanh Ngah Nine, which is an amazing Vietnamese place up in North Richmond. Food was great as usual and we had our usual favourites :)
It's just strange on so many levels how I'm close to this person and I just find her, strange. In recent months, I just find it hard to communicate with her. Not as in having a conversation per se, but more of seeing her as a close friend. We used to be close but now it's on a different level of "closeness", borderline fake I suppose? Not sure what happened actually. But just felt that she's so blunt sometimes and she doesn't know that she's making others feel uncomfortable. And this realization isn't just from me, but from other ppl as well. Also, like the way she conveys herself, is like a -know-it-all. No one likes a person like that.
I don't know. Not sure is this jealousy? LOL but I really am not jealous of her. I know that. Sometimes I can't even be bothered to have a conversation with her because she's getting so snide and arrogant. We'll see how this goes. Wishing her all the best towards graduation, but I for sure wouldn't share much info with her anymore, since that's how she's treating me as well. Secretive and assertive. That's it.
It's a pity though and to be honest, I don't really know how to feel about this as I thought we are really good friends. But yeah, this is real life I suppose. Survival of the fittest.

Happy 2013! :)
Evidently, it has been nearly a year since I've blogged. How time flies! I'm now in 5th year and life is pretty awesome :))) well, apart from having the stress of looking for the perfect case presentation, everything else is running smoothly.
We start really early this year, as all final year students do :((( It was very difficult to leave home this time, knowing that I may not be going back to KL for a year. Leaving the family and bf behind was hard, and I did choke up a few tears before stepping pass immigration. Sigh. Just can't wait to graduate. Fingers crossed that I'd pass this year as well as I could and becoming Dr. Ng in approx 10 months! :))
Also, my MacBook Pro is here! :D Been waiting to get this baby for ages and I'm loving it! The trackpad gestures are amazing and everything is pretty handy. Only thing is getting used to using a Mac OS system in comparison to years of experience in using Windows.
Okay this is really gay. Just found out that my MacBook Pro can't connect to my iPhone via bluetooth. Apparently it's a glitch on the new Mountain Lion OS or something. -_____- SIF this is happening!
Anyway, have a good weekend everyone (and by that I meant you, Asher lol) and wishing you all a happy 2013! :)
